EBSF_2 won the Most Innovative Transport Project Award in London

On 1st March 2018, the London Demonstrator of  the EBSF_2 project won the Most Innovative Transport Project Award. The London Transport awards, supported by Transport for London, London Councils, London Travel Watch and London First, recognise excellence in transport and reward innovation and progress for transport initiatives which are really working in London.

The  EBSF_2 London Demo brings together different IT suppliers that implement open interfaces compliant with ITxPT - Information Technology for Public Transport, in their public transport applications - such as AVMS (Automated Vehicle Monitoring System) and Communication Gateway - all aiming for easier and cost-effective interoperability of public transport systems.

The results of the EBSF_2 work could lead to a standardised IT architecture across the London bus fleet in the future. Such an implementation paves the way to adoption of ITxPT standards in the UK and Europe wide, providing:

  • an easier way for multiple suppliers to work together to provide a complete solution,
  • the ability to multi-source components,
  • potentially cutting costs and increasing efficiency

The award was presented by Mr Leon Daniels and was collected by Mathew Hudson of Transport for London, which led the EBSF_2 London demonstration together with demo partners DIGIMOBEE, ENGIE INEO, HOGIA, INIT, IVU, PILOTFISH, TRAPEZE.

The EBSF_2 project team wishes to warmly congratulate all the London demo partners on their success! Keep up the good work!
