The European Bus System of the Future 2 (EBSF_2) project capitalizes on the results of the previous EBSF projectAs the former, EBSF_2 is aimed at developing a new generation of urban bus systems by means of new vehicle technologies and infrastructures in combination with operational best practices, and testing them in operating scenarios within several European bus networks.

96th TRB Annual Meeting

The Transportation Research Board (TRB) 96th Annual Meeting will be held on 8-12 January 2017 in Washington, D.C. The information-packed program is expected to attract more than 12,000 transportation professionals from around the world.

The meeting program will cover all transportation modes, with more than 5,000 presentations in over 800 sessions and workshops, addressing topics of interest to policy makers, administrators, practitioners, researchers, and representatives of government, industry, and academic institutions. A number of sessions and workshops will focus on the spotlight theme for the 2017 meeting: Transportation Innovation: Leading the Way in an Era of Rapid Change.

EBSF_2 will give a presentation on 'Testing the bus of the future: a decade of European research on bus systems' during the session 463 dedicated to Bus Transit Research and Practices.

TIS

The objective of the AIIT International Congress TIS Rome 2017 is to promote transport as a growing industry, and its current significance. The Congress provides a forum for discussion, interactions and exchange among researchers, scientists and engineers whose fields of interest are transport and infrastructure engineering. The congress is organized by the Italian Association for Traffic and Transport Engineering AIIT founded in 1957. The meeting program will cover all transportation modes, with more than 100 presentations in sessions and workshops, addressing topics of interest to policy makers, administrators, practitioners, researchers, and representatives of government, industry, and academic institutions.

The complete TIS international Congress program will be posted to the Congress website – www.aiit.it – in February 2017. The congress will host participants from more than 50 countries worldwide, with more than 100 scientific papers. TIS Rome 2017 proceedings will be published by CRC Press/Balkema Taylor & Francis Group. The Publishers will send the Proceedings to Thomson Reuters (Web of Science) and Elsevier (Engineering Village, Scopus) for indexing purposes.

EBSF_2 will feature a presentation on 'Shaping the future of buses in Europe: outcomes and directions from the EBSF and EBSF_2 projects'.
